Sunday Services

We were all first timers once and we know that it can be a bit daunting to come to a new church, especially if its been a while since you went or if its your first time. We wanted to share a little bit about what happens on a Sunday morning to hopefully help a little.

Times

Our main weekly service on a Sunday morning starts at 10:40am. The service is usually finished by 12 and we would love for you to stay afterwards for a tea or coffee and a chat.

Dress Code

There isn’t one! you may find some people in Sunday best but many people will be dressed much more casually and jeans and t-shirt is just as acceptable as suit and tie or posh frock. Just wear what you feel comfortable in.

Who will be there?

Every Sunday is different but on a typical Sunday we have around 50 people ranging from about 8 months to 80 years . We have a crèche area and junior church (Sunday School) facilities.

Children

Many parents can feel nervous about their children (especially younger ones) being disruptive in church. Please don’t worry too much, many of us have children and we love to have children in our church.

Family / Parade Service

On the 3rd Sunday of each month and during the school summer holidays, we have a Family service where we all worship together as one big family. Though there are usually still crèche facilities for younger children. On the 3rd Sunday during term time, the Family service is combined with a Parade service when members of the youth organisations affiliated with the church join us for worship.

Music

Our music is typically more modern worship songs than traditional hymns though we do sing both. We have a live band to lead the music on a Sunday morning.

Messy Church is about having time together to have fun, explore faith, worship God and share some food. Everyone is welcome at Messy Church (especially you and your family and friends). We strive to involve everyone and value everyone. It is called Messy Church because  we all lead messy lives (and you might get a bit Messy)!  People arrive and have a choice of craft and activities which feed into the theme which is followed by food and the celebration the celebration.

Messy Church is especially designed to reach out to families including those for whom Sunday morning worship is difficult due to family circumstances.

  • It is an all-age church where everyone is valued equally.
  • It provides an informal environment for all-ages to explore and experience faith and worship through crafts, food and celebration.
  • It describes each and every one of us as no one is perfect and each of us lead messy lives for many reasons.
  • It invites us to come together, making things together, eating together and celebrating God together.
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult.
